GEOL 580 - Theoretical Petrology

Origin of igneous and metamorphic rocks with emphasis on theoretical principles of phase equilibria, thermodynamics, kinetics, and elemental and isotopic evolution and partitioning. Students should be competent in mineralogy prior to enrollment.
