MUSC 423 - Black Music

Historical examination of black music from 1619 to the present. Analysis of musical styles including blues, rag, jazz, rhythm and blues, and soul, within the social and cultural context of American life.

Prerequisites & Notes
PRQ: Grade of C or better in MUSC 202, and grade of C or better in either MUSC 204 or MUSC 267.

Credits: 3
