TH-D 250 - Afro-Cuban Dance

In this class students will learn dances brought to Cuba by enslaved people from Africa. Students will experience the sacred dances of the Yoruba Orishas, Palo and Makuta dances from Congo, and Arará dances. Students will investigate these influences in folk dances and “bailes populares” from Rumba to Salsa.
