Rehabilitation and Performance Sciences

The School of Rehabilitation and Performance Sciences offers programs of graduate study leading to the the Doctor of physical therapy (D.P.T.),  M.S. in athletic training,  M.S. in nutrition, and M.S. in rehabilitation counseling, and and certificates of graduate study-eating disorders and obesity,  and sports nutrition.

The D.P.T. program prepares individuals to function as entry-level practitioners in physical therapy. The D.P.T. program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education. The program of study is designed so students meet the educational requirements to be eligible to take the licensure examination.

The Master of Science in Nutrition program empowers students to advance health and well-being through the science of nutrition. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles in education, community programs, government, healthcare, business, and non-profit organizations. The program also enhances the professional practice of those in allied health fields-such as dietetics, therapy, nursing, medicine, and public health-by deepening their understanding of nutrition’s role in improving lives.

The 60-semester hour rehabilitation counseling (M.S.) curriculum prepares students for careers as entry-level rehabilitation counselors. The course offerings support academic preparation for careers in both public and private settings of vocational rehabilitation programs. The M.S. in rehabilitation counseling is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and is designed to meet the academic and experiential requirements of the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential awarded by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).
