Students entering NIU with 30 or fewer credit hours, excluding credits awarded through NIU’s Credit by Examination Program, must earn credit in two upper-division courses that are designated as “writing-infused.” These courses may be taken within the general education program, the major program, or through electives. Writing-infused courses are listed below. The Class Search in MyNIU can be searched to find writing-infused classes offered for a specific term by selecting the course attribute of “Writing-Infused.”

Topic A: Content satisfies the Creativity and Critical Analysis general education knowledge domain and is writing infused.
Topic B: Content satisfies the Nature and Technology general education knowledge domain and is writing infused.
Topic C: Content satisfies the Society and Culture general education knowledge domain and is writing infused.
HON 420 Topics A-C also meet General Education Domain Requirements. Topic D satisfies a Human Diversity Requirement.
