Students pursuing the M.S. in Cybersecurity must complete at least ten graduate-level courses of 3 semester hours each. The program comprises a core of 6 required courses and a set of electives that students can choose from to complete their degree requirements. Students may choose either a master project or a thesis option. Students choosing the project option must take 9 courses in total (27 credit hours), plus successfully complete 3 credit hours of CYBR 697 with their project advisor. For students choosing a master’s thesis option, 6 semester hours of CYBR 699 will count as two of the ten courses required and a program of study designed by the student and the advisor must be approved by the Cybersecurity program director.

Students who are planning to continue their studies through the department’s doctoral program are highly recommended to choose the thesis option.
