SOCI 370 - History of Social Thought

Survey of Greco-Roman, medieval, and modern philosophies leading to the origin of sociology in the 19th century. Analysis of the social and political ideas of selected thinkers, such as Plato, Aristotle, Aquinas, Hobbes, and Marx, stressing both continuities and discontinuities of their contributions with modern sociology.

Prerequisites & Notes
PRQ: SOCI 170 or SOCI 250 or SOCI 260 or SOCI 270.
