TLCI 701 - Theoretical Perspectives of Educational Equity

The content of this course will provide the requisite theoretical background in social justice and equity-oriented pedagogies for our doctoral students to serve as more responsive and reflexive leaders themselves and assist individuals with whom they supervise to do the same. Emphasis is placed on a critical examination of the hierarchical systems of power that exist in the educational field. Students examine theories and curriculum practices that promote or hinder power and ideology, achievement, fairness, and opportunity in education.
