MUED 150 - Introduction to Music Education/Field Experience in Public Schools

Examination of current philosophies and practices in music education to provide students with emerging perspectives and pathways towards music teaching and learning. Development of professional and holistic practices of effective teaching, including a focus on working with diverse learning styles, using culturally relevant pedagogy, and teaching in a variety of formal and non-formal contexts. Ten clinical hours are to be completed during the semester in a variety of PK-12 settings as an introduction to field experience. Required of all students in the music education emphasis.
