Crosslisted as BKST 404X. A holistic view of the Caribbean region examining scholars and outsiders’ representations. Topics include slavery and its impacts on racial/ethnic identities and categories, economies, food production, trade and the region’s rich and diverse expressive culture. Contemporary sociopolitical and economic aspects are discussed.
