Students must successfully complete HIST 391, and at least one 400-level NIU history course (excluding HIST 400, HIST 492, HIST 496, and HIST 497) before taking HIST 491. At least two such 400-level NIU history courses (excluding HIST 400, HIST 492, HIST 496, and HIST 497) are required to complete the major.
