Students who wish to earn a baccalaureate degree with honors in world languages and cultures must consult with a departmental advisor. To be eligible, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in the major and a minimum university GPA of 3.00.

The degree with honors in world languages and cultures requires the completion of a minimum of 3 hours of FLIS 499, Honors Independent Study (3), which must be taken in the senior year and the maintenance of an overall minimum GPA of 3.00 and a GPA of 3.50 or above in the major.

The University Honors Program is separate but complementary to the departmental degree with honors. Eligible students may participate in one or both programs simultaneously since there is some overlap in the requirements. Students interested in the University Honors Program are encouraged to contact the University Honors office for more detailed information.
