NURS 673 - Family Nurse Practitioner Internship


The Family Nurse Practitioner Internship provides students with a comprehensive, hands-on clinical experience designed to integrate classroom learning with real-world practice. Through a series of rotations (i.e. adult, women’s, pediatric, specialty care settings) students will develop advanced skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and management across the lifespan. Over the course of multiple semesters, students will complete a total of 750 direct care practicum hours, fostering a deep understanding of diverse healthcare needs and preparing them for independent practice as Family Nurse Practitioners. This immersive experience emphasizes professional development, critical thinking, and evidence-based care in a variety of clinical environments

Prerequisites & Notes
PRQ: NURS 652 and consent of school

Credits: 2-4 credit hours; students must complete a total of 12 credit hours over a minimum of 3 semesters
