The Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics equips professionals with the analytical and technical skills needed to turn data into strategic business insights. Designed for working professionals and graduate students, this program bridges the gap between data science and business decision-making. Students learn to collect, manage, analyze, and visualize data using industry-standard tools and methodologies, enabling them to make informed, data-driven decisions within dynamic organizational contexts.
Coursework emphasizes applied learning through hands-on projects and real-world business cases. Topics include data management, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, data visualization, and artificial intelligence (AI) in business. Graduates will be prepared to apply analytics to improve performance, optimize operations, and support innovation across industries.
This certificate is not available for students pursuing a graduate degree offered by the Department of Operations Management and Information Systems. Students must maintain good academic standing within the university, achieve a minimum grade of a C in each course applied toward the certificate, and complete all certificate course work within a period of four calendar years. Only courses taken at NIU may be applied toward the certificate. Some courses may have prerequisites that are not part of the certificate curriculum.
